As Mortal Kombat X Arrives, Entire Franchise Reaches 35 Million Units Sold

Fighting game franchise's worldwide sales tally to grow further as latest installment in the series launches today. by Eddie Makuch on April 14, 2015 The Mortal Kombat series, one of gaming's most well-known franchises, has now sold more than 35 million units since it originally debuted in the early '90s. Publisher Warner Bros. mentioned the lifetime sales figure today in a press release heralding the arrival of Mortal Kombat X, the latest entry in the series.

Mortal Kombat X launches today, April 14, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions have been delayed, and are now due out sometime in the summer.
